Solaro
Most electric vehicle brands lean on the same tired tropes: clinical whites, generic leaf motifs, or sterile tech jargon. Solaro took a fundamentally different engineering path by harvesting solar energy directly on the vehicle body, giving drivers the freedom of never having to hunt for a charging stall.
My job was to build an identity worthy of that engineering leap. That meant naming the venture, establishing the brand architecture from scratch, and carving out a mark that feels fast even when the car is parked.
Monogram Anatomy & System Specs
The mark started with dozens of rough sketches exploring how light rays interact with wind resistance. By locking tangent arcs into a geometric S-curve, the finished monogram stays unmistakable whether it is badged on a steering wheel boss or blown up across an interstate billboard.
I set uncompromising reproduction rules for monochrome, embroidery, and debossed steel, making sure the logo never loses structural clarity on physical automotive components.
Architectural Scale & Lifestyle Touchpoints
From the glass and steel architecture of Solaro headquarters to tactile vehicle ownership artefacts, the identity establishes a commanding luxury presence. Minimalist NFC keycards replace traditional keys with effortless digital elegance, while bespoke celebratory gifts commemorate milestone vehicle deliveries.
Electric cars do not need to look like sterile appliances. Pairing high-voltage Solar Flare Yellow with rich Midnight Graphite gives the brand immediate presence on the road, while Etna display typography provides structural weight.
From aluminum NFC keycards to embossed merchandise, the entire system connects advanced solar technology with the emotional thrill of open road freedom.
